We had a lot of best times at our meet against Delmarva Christian yesterday! They were a small team, so we exhibitioned a lot of swims (stopped scoring after 70 points or so). Girls won 71 to 48 and the boys won 72 to 57. The boys now have a 7-meet win streak which equals the longest they have had in the past.
One team record was broken. Jacob Gilgenast broke the team record in the 100 Butterfly, swimming a State Consideration time in the process. Nathan Hunter swam a State Qualifying time in the 100 Backstroke.
Gabriela Poletaev swam a personal best time in the 200 IM, dropping 2 seconds off her best time. Grace Lombardi and Abby Plummer swam personal bests in the 50 freestyle, both moving into the 29’s. Abby Plummer also swam a personal best time in the 100 Butterfly, dropping 1.5 seconds. In addition, Abby swam her fastest ever 50 Breaststroke split time, dropping to 36.4 seconds. Raychel Thress swam a personal best time in the 50 Freestyle, dropping more than 4 seconds. Esther Baker swam a personal best 50 Freestyle split time. Swimming near personal best times were Esther Baker in the 200 Freestyle and the 100 Breaststroke, Summer Edge in the 100 Butterfly, Kaysa Lammers in the 100 Freestyle and the 100 Backstroke, Hannah Plummer in the 100 Freestyle, and Gabriela Poletaev in the 100 Breaststroke. Swimming events for the first time for us were Hannah Plummer and Julia Rose in the 200 IM and Grace Lombardi in the 500 Freestyle. Earning first place finishes were Gabriela Poletaev (4), Abby Plummer (3), Jenna Henke (3), Grace Lombardi (3), Summer Edge (3), Kaysa Lammers (2), and Hannah Plummer. Earning second place finishes were Kaysa Lammers (2), Hannah Plummer (2), Grace Lombardi, Abby Plummer, Jenna Henke, Julia Marks, and Esther Baker. Earning third place finishes were Esther Baker (3), Sydney Hughes (3), Julia Marks (2), Raychel Thress (2), Summer Edge, Hannah Plummer, and Julia Rose. Taking 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in the 100 Backstroke were Summer Edge, Kaysa Lammers, and Sydney Hughes.
Aron Hughes swam personal best times in both the 200 IM and the 100 Breaststroke, dropping 6 seconds and 4 seconds respectively. Jared Henke swam a personal best time in the 200 IM, dropping 4 seconds. Jared also swam a very fast personal best 50 Breaststroke split time of 34.71. Evan Hughes swam a best time in the 50 Freestyle, dropping a second. Evan also swam a very fast 30.97 50 butterfly split time. Micah Freer swam a personal best time in the 50 Freestyle, dropping 2 seconds. Micah also swam his fastest 100 Freestyle split time in the 400 Freestyle Relay. Ethan Edge swam a personal best time in the 100 Backstroke. Sam Freer swam a personal best time in the 100 Backstroke, dropping 3 seconds. Chip Moore dropped over a minute off his practice 500 Freestyle time. Swimming near personal best times were Nathan Rose in the 200 Freestyle and 100 Breaststroke, Jacob Gilgenast in the 200 IM, Chris Mahoney in the 50 freestyle, Nathan Hunter in the 100 Backstroke, and Jared Henke in the 100 Breaststroke. Swimming events for the first time for us were Sam Freer in the 200 Freestyle and Wes Visser in the 100 Freestyle. Earning first place finishes were Jacob Gilgenast (4), Nathan Hunter (4), Nathan Rose (4), Ethan Edge (2), Daniel Schea, Jared Henke, Chris Mahoney, and Evan Hughes. Earning second place finishes were Evan Hughes (2), Jared Henke (2), Daniel Schea (2), Chip Moore, Justin Henke, and Micah Freer. Earning third place finishes were Ethan Edge (2), Aron Hughes (2), Jared Henke, Evan Hughes, Chip Moore, Chris Mahoney, Justin Henke, Sam Freer, Micah Freer, and Wes Viser.
